Tennessee Baseball Headed to College World Series Final

Record-Setting Performance Propels Vols to Victory

Dreiling Shines in Game 2 Win

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Tennessee Volunteers baseball team is headed to the Men's College World Series final after a thrilling 4-1 victory over Texas A&M in Game 2 on Sunday. Sophomore pitcher Blade Dreiling delivered a dominant performance, leading the Vols to their third win of the tournament and a spot in the championship series.

Tennessee's offense came alive with a pair of two-run homers, providing Dreiling with the early lead he needed. Seth Stephenson's blast in the first inning set the tone, while Drew Gilbert added another in the third to give the Vols a 4-0 advantage.

Dreiling, who has been a breakout star for Tennessee this season, allowed only one run on five hits over six innings of work. He struck out nine Aggie batters and walked just one, earning the victory and extending his scoreless innings streak to 13.1.

The Vols' defense played a crucial role in securing the win, turning two double plays and making several key catches in the outfield. Right fielder Jordan Beck made a spectacular diving catch in the top of the ninth to preserve the victory.

Tennessee now advances to the College World Series final where they will face either Oklahoma or Notre Dame. The championship series is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 27. This marks the first time the Vols have reached the title game since 2005.

The Volunteers' success in this tournament is a testament to their hard work and determination throughout the season. They are now on the cusp of making history and bringing home their first national championship in baseball.
